On July 13, 2026, Hong Kong took a significant step into the future of artificial intelligence and digital entrepreneurship. Cyberport, the city’s leading digital technology hub, officially launched two interconnected initiatives: the OPC Hub, the city's first innovation and entrepreneurship base dedicated to "One-Person Companies" (OPCs), and the Web4.0 & Agentic AI Security Alliance . Together, they represent a strategic bet on the power of the individual in the age of agentic AI.
The Birth of the "One-Person Company" Hub
The OPC Hub is a direct response to the transformative potential of Agentic AI. As Cyberport CEO Dr. Eric Cheng noted, the rapid advancement of AI agents and tools allows individual entrepreneurs to overcome traditional resource and scale limitations. Tasks that once required teams—research, marketing, operations—can now be executed more efficiently by a single person leveraging AI. The Hub offers a comprehensive support ecosystem for these founders, including AI inference and computing resources, cloud services, and networking support, as well as shared workspaces, investor matching, and industry connections.
The Web4.0 & Agentic AI Security Alliance
The companion initiative, the Web4.0 & Agentic AI Security Alliance, addresses the critical governance challenge of this new era. The Alliance was formed to tackle the emerging cybersecurity risks associated with the convergence of Agentic AI, blockchain, and the programmable internet, known as Web4.0. Its goals are to promote cross-industry collaboration, develop practical security principles and best practices, and build a repository of real-world use cases to support the safe adoption of AI agents. This creates a security foundation for the OPC ecosystem and the wider industry.
