  • Short Bio / Excerpt:

Danny Lung is an accomplished financial services veteran, blockchain entrepreneur, and technology risk strategist based in Hong Kong. Operating at the vanguard of the digital asset revolution, he serves as the Co-Founder and CEO of PQA Labs and PQA Trust Limited. With nearly three decades of combined experience spanning traditional banking, venture capital, and deep-tech engineering, Lung has established himself as a central figure in safeguarding the future of finance through post-quantum cryptography and regulated blockchain infrastructure.

His cross-disciplinary technical and business acumen is backed by a rigorous academic foundation completed at prestigious institutions. Lung earned his Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) in Electrical Engineering from McGill University, providing him with a strong foundation in core computer and electronic design. Driven to master macroeconomic strategy and corporate finance, he later went on to pursue an MBA from the NYU Stern School of Business. He also holds elite professional designations, including being a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder and a Certified Financial Risk Manager (FRM).

Lung’s early career began in the engineering sector, where he uniquely contributed to global connectivity standards. While working at Ericsson Canada, he served as an early contributor to the initial development and optimization of the now-ubiquitous Bluetooth technology. Transitioning his technical capabilities into institutional finance, he spent over two decades honing his expertise in banking, private equity, and venture investing across North America and Greater China. His impressive corporate pedigree includes early tenures at premier multinational banking institutions, notably Citibank and American Express.

As digital assets and decentralized ecosystems disrupted legacy banking, Lung pivoted to establish leading enterprise solutions in East Asia. In 2024, he co-founded PQA Labs and PQA Trust to engineer the world’s first quantum-resistant, secure stablecoin payment systems and institutional-grade asset custody platforms. His firms specialize in protecting cross-border institutional capital against the emerging security threats posed by quantum computing. By uniquely fusing his traditional banking prudence with his historical background in wireless security, Lung directs the deployment of next-generation asset-backed vehicles like the PQUSD stablecoin.

Parallel to his corporate executive mandates, Lung is a prominent policy advocate and ecosystem builder within the regional tech community. He serves as the Co-Chair of the Quantum Computing & Cybersecurity Committee for the FinTech Association of Hong Kong (FTAHK) and actively contributes to local regulatory clarity as a member of the Stablecoin Working Group at Web3 Harbour. Committed to institutional governance and education, he lends his expertise to the Asia Regional Advisory Board at McGill University and serves as a non-executive director for the Martlet Foundation of Hong Kong, cementing his role as a vital architect of modern financial security.
