David Kim Soo-yun is an accomplished veteran investment banker, tech journalist, and visual storyteller who has established himself as a prominent cross-border strategist in Asia. With nearly three decades of global financial and media expertise spanning seven countries, Kim specializes in capital markets, strategic narrative reframing, and venture value creation. Recognized by the tech media platform e27 as one of the Top 27 Startup Voices in Asia in 2025, his career bridges the gap between complex engineering architectures and capital readiness, acting as a critical bilingual "translator" for global founders and investors.
Kim began his professional trajectory in international affairs at a government policy bank before transitioning into corporate finance, cross-border M&A, and joint financial ventures across emerging markets. He served as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of a joint financial institution in Thailand and later sharpened his market execution strategies handling capital markets at GE Capital in South Korea. Throughout his three-decade banking tenure, Kim successfully structured over 300 investment deals and facilitated the deployment of more than $2 billion in capital, highlighted by his instrumental role in financing $0.6 billion for SK Hynix prior to the high-bandwidth memory (HBM) market boom.
