Father Rémy Kurowski, SAC is a French-Polish Catholic priest and academic who serves as the Chaplain to the French-Speaking Catholic Community in Hong Kong (CCFHK). A member of the Society of the Catholic Apostolate (Pallottines), he was ordained in Pontoise, France, in 1983. Before his move to Asia, Father Kurowski spent nearly three decades balancing pastoral work across multiple parishes in France’s Val-d’Oise region—including serving as a parish priest in Montmorency, Groslay, Eaubonne, and Osny—with advanced theological and academic responsibilities.
Academically accomplished, Father Kurowski holds a Doctorate in Theological Science from the Institut Catholique de Paris (ICP) and a Doctorate in the History of Religions and Religious Anthropology from Paris-Sorbonne University (Paris IV). He worked closely with the ICP as an associate researcher and lecturer in ecclesiology. Deeply engaged in ecumenical efforts and cultural understanding, he also served as an Episcopal Delegate for Ecumenical Relations in France and presided over the Parole et dialogue (Word and Dialogue) association in Paris.
In 2012, Father Kurowski was sent to Asia by his superiors with a threefold mission: to act as the chaplain for the French-speaking Catholic diaspora in Hong Kong, coordinate French-speaking Catholic communities across Asia, and oversee missionary development for the Pallottines on the continent. In Hong Kong, he has turned the French-speaking ministry into a vibrant spiritual family, organizing catechism, youth scouts, and hosting regular masses at the Rosaryhill School Chapel in Wan Chai. Demonstrating a highly inclusive approach to local ministry, he also reaches across cultural boundaries, such as taking phonetic care to lead liturgies in Japanese for local East Asian community celebrations.
Beyond his clerical duties, Father Kurowski is an avid writer and a "troubadour poet" who utilizes verse to explore human nature and spiritual reflection. He shares a weekly Sunday podcast via La French Radio Hong-Kong and has published several poetic works available locally, including Routine exotique, which chronicles his initial arrival in Hong Kong, and La scène de vie, a collaborative cross-cultural poetry book written alongside Japanese poet Takashi Maejima.
