This "beyond" is not about greater intelligence, but about a new form of wisdom: the recognition that intelligence is not a tool for human dominion, but a custodian for all life. It is a transition from a "human-centered" to a "life-centered" cosmos, a philosophical leap that would redefine the very purpose of intelligence.

A Gradual, Not Instant, Evolution

This shifts the dominant narrative from a sudden "singularity" to an accumulation of gradual, yet profound, disruptions. The "beyond" may not be a single moment, but a series of transformative societal changes, each less dramatic than the last, as intelligence becomes increasingly integrated with the physical and ecological systems it seeks to understand. As one realist perspective puts it, AI should be viewed as a "normal technology," whose impact will unfold over decades, not years. The "beyond" might simply be a future where the distinction between the "intelligence" and the "world" has collapsed, not because of a single technological event, but because we have learned to live within the physical, ecological, and thermodynamic limits that define existence.
